Have you ever felt like you were in a battle for your mind, in this walk called life? Feeling like you have sooooo many things on your to-do list, so many demands from work, family, ministry, being married, running a business, etc. We all have experienced feeling overwhelmed with the demands of life, so know that you are not alone.
Speaking from personal experience, there have been many times in the past and even presently, when I have felt overwhelmed because of the cares of this life and all the things, at least in my mind, I feel I needed to accomplish. My mind constantly feeling like it’s on overdrive because I’m thinking about “the next thing” I need to do, and wondering whether I’m going to get it all done. Have you been there?
My sister in the lord, Kelly Balarie, known for being a Cheerleader of Faith, knows what it means to be an overcomer of these many thoughts raging through our minds. In her new book, Battle Ready, she mentions in her blog that “Battle Ready women aren’t perfect, they just know Who Is. They have strategies, wisdom, truth, and promises lined up in their fanny-pack like weapons for hard days” (Balarie, http://purposefulfaith.com/category/battle-ready/).
This is so true because most of us women, at least in my case, have a tendency to try to control situations and sometimes forget that the very faithful, full of grace God that we serve, is the One who is in control. If we’re not careful, and mindful about what we’re feeding our minds on, then God’s beloved Word where He says “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5) will start becoming dim.
Just like a battle when a war is taking place, God is calling all His children who have a personal relationship with Him to be like Kellie Balarie’s book title, “Battle Ready”. In the midst of when your thoughts are all over the place, and when you feel anxious, or just feel like you need a mental break, what brings me comfort everytime I feel like that is remembering all the good things that God has done in my life and how He has been so faithful in the midst of my unfaithfulness.
For those reading this blog, hopefully, this will bring rest to your soul because just like God has on many occasions, brought comfort to my soul, He is ready to do the same for you. He’s waiting for you to run into His arms like an innocent child, seeking solace, rest, comfort, and peace in their parents bosom.
No matter what you’re experiencing in your life right now, KNOW that God loves you very much. He has your best interest at heart, and desires to be close to you; IF you allow Him. I say IF because God says in His Word “Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded” (James 4:8). What you’re experiencing right now is only temporary, so strap up your boot straps, press into Gods Word, and join me in being Battle Ready, so that we can ” take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one” (Ephesians 6:16).
Share a time in your life when you felt like you weren’t prepared for the battle of life, but something inside you kept telling you to keep going?
