As I sit here writing, my heart is full of gratitude, anticipation, desire, expectation, and joy because of the Holy Spirit’s presence. It’s been almost 6 months since I last published a blog post and I was starting to find myself feeling guilty for not writing or publishing something, but thankfully, the Holy Spirit reminded me that I needed to take down my walls of worrying about what other people thought, and just write 100% from my heart. So I’m doing just that. For any writers reading this, can you relate?
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as though working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” Colossians 2:23-24 (NIV)
A sigh of relief came over me because that is exactly what my heart needed to hear. There was a moment where I found myself getting a little discouraged because it didn’t seem like a lot of people were reading my blog articles, and crazy enough, I allowed the thought of what other people thought, to hinder me from publishing my blog article that I know will bless so many people.
Have you experienced that too? Worrying about what other people think….
In no way should we ever allow people to dictate our actions or emotions. I thank God for reminding me that I’m writing unto the Lord and not unto man. I’m sure many of you can relate if writing is one of your passions, however, if you have other creative outlets that you use to express yourself, then I’m sure you can relate too. Writing is an outlet that God has allowed me to tap into, where I can express my heart, but most importantly, share the things that the Holy Spirit wants me to share with others that I know will encourage, inspire, and bless many people.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
My heart has been hungry for growth and change and in encouraging others in Christ. Have you ever felt like that before? Like although you physically may be doing one thing, that your heart desires to do something totally different? We all have those moments, so know that you’re not alone.
I used to think that I was weird because more than anything else, encouraging others and showing them hope was and still is always on the forefront of my mind. You may be reading this and find yourself in a similar position. Your physical body may be in one place, but your heart and mind are in another.
I’m here to be a hope dealer to you. Yes, I said it! A hope dealer. Know that you matter and that whatever God has put on your heart to do, He’s given you the strength, wisdom, mental capacity, and time to do the thing He’s calling you to do. Like me at times, you may feel like others are further along than you, that what you say may not be a big deal or make a difference, but I’m here to encourage you, that WHAT YOU DO AND SAY MATTERS!! You matter! Your voice matters!
Continue to believe in yourself and never let the voices in your own mind tell you what you can’t do. Remember your worth and don’t ever let doubt hinder you from fulfilling all the things that God has called you to do.
We all have a story to tell, so if you feel you can relate, please feel free to share your story in the comments below.
